We visited Shiprock a little bit before sunset in the winter. The weather is rather unstable and we know the area is just waiting for another incoming cold front that tends to lead to heavy snow. It was snow free upon the time of our arrival though we end up seeing the incoming snow anyway just the day after when we were heading back to the Utah side.
